What an effective SEO Strategy Can Do
Hub Demand Generation

Hub Demand Generation
BACKGROUND
Hub is a presales solution that helps sales engineers respond faster, establish value, and pursue opportunities efficiently to win more business.
TIMELINE
Six weeks, plus ongoing maintenance
ISSUE
Hub launched in 2020 with a brand-new website and very little digital footprint. Our SEO goals were:
Website https://hub.inc/
Solution/How We Did It
Pages
First, we researched the industry and did a detailed competitor analysis and then assembled keywords in three categories: 1) words that Hub was already ranking for within the Top 100; 2) words that were industry-relevant but were not owned by any industry competitors; 3) words that were owned by competitors but were worth pursuing to outrank the competition.
From there, we updated the content on each page of the Hub website with the selected keywords to improve search ranking, including relevant meta descriptions and updated headers and page titles to better capture each page’s content.
Blogs
The VSSL crew incorporated selected keywords into every blog on the site, with each word strategically chosen and placed. We created relevant meta descriptions as well. Note that blog optimizations are incredibly fluid, with a constant re-balancing of efforts among different areas to achieve maximum results. For Hub, the six-week timeframe was sufficient to see the results and pivot our strategy where needed. We also created a strategic internal backlinking map that guides users through Hub’s content along an informative path in hopes of generating leads.
Technical
Our crew conducted a detailed site audit and identified a number of technical fixes that would improve the site’s health, speed, and domain authority. Alt tags for all images, meta descriptions, heading/page formats, and other additions were made over a two-week period, and we saw the results of these changes immediately.
Content Strategy
A workflow was established with our point of contact to ensure all revised blogs aligned with the SEO strategy prior to going live. We also verified that the new content being created every month supported our SEO goals for search ranking and overall visibility in the competitor landscape.

ALEXA RANKING
Improved by 411%, jumping from 1,532,408 to 299,752 in a six-week period on a global scale, and to 44,179 nationally.
SITE HEALTH
Rose from 81% pre-implementation to a consistent 91% month-to-month since then.
VISIBILITY
Hub first launched with just 0.04% visibility across the 48 keywords that we were tracking, with only one keyword ranking in the Top 50. Our strategy improved total visibility to 8.40%, which continues to grow. 22 of the 48 target keywords now rank in the Top 100 and 7 in the Top 10.
COMPETITIVE STRATEGY
We secured a higher rank for keywords that competitors previously owned, including several first-page rankings. Including a page 2 ranking for “Hub,” a highly competitive keyword.
DOUBLING TRAFFIC
Organic search previously drove just 7.65% of all site traffic. Our strategy more than doubled that figure to 15.86%.
