Featured Employee Of The Month: Adam Jones

1. What was your very first job?
Working at the local movie theater next to my high school. I definitely feel like I could fill a whole subreddit with weird stories from my summer working there. Also, it was rad to get free tokens to the arcade!

2. What degree(s) do you have, and from which institutes and fields of study?
I have a BFA in Graphic Design from San Diego State University. Which is just a wordy way to say that I move around objects on a screen. Oh and that I get an excuse card for having 2 monitors.

3. What do you think is one of the most significant changes that you’ve seen since you started working in your industry?
I’d say the overall shift to prioritizing design in all industries (but specifically with tech companies). Huge tech companies like Google have placed tons of value on good design where in the past it seemed disregarded or forgotten.

4. What excites you most about the digital marketing world?
That you can build literally anything! Whether it be an app, a website, a printed flier, apparel, etc. With the quick progression of technology we have the tools to create anything!

5. What do you do when you are not at work?
Spending time with my wife, son and church family. Or watching episodes of Seinfeld. Or both.

6. Do you have any hobbies?
Trying to not lose more skateboarding tricks, reading and learning as much design and development skills as I can, trying to keep a toddler alive, and currently watching as many 80’s movies as possible (if you haven’t seen “The Secret of My Success” with Michael J. Fox then you should stream it right now).

7. What thing(s) are you obsessed with?
Design, technology in all forms, IPAs, YouTube (ask me for deep dive recommendations), black jeans, sci-fi stuff like Star Wars/Blade Runner/Aliens, pseudo-third wave coffee, the Planet Money podcast, skateboarding and biking.

8. What’s one thing about yourself that would surprise people?
That I love Disneyland. My wife and I have season passes. Legit the only place that I’m willing to wait hours in line for.

9. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
To love and serve others sacrificially and place their needs over your own.
